"Personalized Assessments for Mental Health and Substance Use"
Assessment Services
ARCTIC Health Services provides personalised assessments for mental health and substance use concerns. The process begins with a detailed clinical interview to understand your history, current concerns, and goals. When helpful, we use brief screening tools or standardised questionnaires to improve clarity and support decision making.
You will receive a written report that summarises findings and provides practical recommendations. This may include diagnostic impressions when appropriate, guidance on treatment options, and recommendations for follow up supports.
Assessments
Psychiatric Independent Medical Examination (P-IME)
A Psychiatric Independent Medical Examination is an objective assessment completed in response to specific questions from the referral source. This service is commonly requested for insurance, legal, and workplace processes.
The assessment includes a review of relevant records, a structured psychiatric interview, and standardised measures when indicated. You will receive a clear report that addresses the referral questions and outlines clinical findings, including diagnostic impressions when requested.
Independent Medical Examination (IME)
ARCTIC Health Services provides IME assessments to offer an independent, evidence informed opinion regarding medical, psychological, or psychiatric concerns. These assessments are designed to support clear decision making in workplace, insurance, and legal contexts.
The process may include a review of records, clinical interviews, and relevant assessment tools. Reports focus on clinical status, functional impacts, and recommendations that support next steps, including return to work considerations when applicable.
Psychiatric Assessment with Family Physician Consultation
This service provides a psychiatric assessment with a written report and coordinated consultation with the family physician. The purpose is to support shared understanding of clinical findings and to assist the family physician with treatment planning.
Where clinically appropriate, recommendations may include medication options, psychotherapy referrals, and follow up psychiatric consultation. Prescribing may occur when indicated and within the scope of care.
Medical Legal and Insurance Assessments
ARCTIC Health Services completes assessments to support disability claims, workplace claims, and insurer requests, including Workers’ Compensation Board and related processes. These assessments clarify diagnosis where appropriate, describe functional impacts, and provide evidence informed recommendations.
Depending on the referral question, assessments may include psychiatric evaluation, psychological testing, and functional focused review. Reports are written for clarity, with clinical rationale that supports fair and informed decision making.
King’s Court and Family Court Assessments
ARCTIC Health Services provides family court assessments related to parenting, access, custody, and child welfare matters. These assessments are structured, objective, and focused on the best interests of the child.
The process may include interviews, collateral review, psychological measures when appropriate, and observations as required by the referral question. Reports provide clear findings and recommendations to assist legal professionals and the court.
Psychological Assessment
A psychological assessment is an independent evaluation designed to answer specific referral questions. The process may include review of relevant records, a structured clinical interview, and standardised psychological testing.
You will receive a written report that summarises findings, addresses the referral questions, and provides practical recommendations. A formal diagnosis may be provided when clinically appropriate and when requested.
Addictions Assessment
An addictions assessment is a comprehensive review of substance use, mental health, physical health, and social factors that may be affecting recovery. The goal is to clarify severity, identify co occurring concerns, and understand what is contributing to ongoing use.
You will receive recommendations that support an evidence informed care plan, which may include medical supports, counselling options, and follow up pathways.
